Here we are blog family. We flew from Atlanta (Thurs AM May 3rd) to Dulles Airport in Washington D.C. Left Dulles around 12:30 to China. Arrived in Beijing, China Friday May 4th around 2:30PM. It was about a 14 hour trip. I didn't get much sleep on the way over. The seats were very uncomfortable and my back kept tensing. Made the trip ok though.

It is now Tuesday morning May the 8th around 9:40. So far we have been to Tian'anmen Square, the Forbidden City, an old section of China called Hutong (where we ate in a family home that is over 200 years old). We have visited the Pearl Factory and the Jade Factory (that's where all my money has gone). Yesterday we walked some of the Great Wall. We have also seen the Emperor's Summer Palace.

We are learning a lot from our Chinese guides. We have learned much about their beliefs (or lack of them). Brief history lessons on their dynasty, currency, folk lore, etc. Just enough to make me want to learn more. We have eaten enough real Chinese food to last me a life time and we still have 1 and 1/2 weeks to go.

We go to Guangzhou today. This is the province Maddie is from. We will get Maddie tomorrow. We are so excited and the closer it gets the more emotional we become. My baby will be getting her baby tomorrow. What a special time. I am so glad the Lord worked it out so I could be here with her. Will defiantly post pics of OUR BABY!!!!

More pics to follow later today when we get to Guanzhou.
