Roll Tide (Anyway)
Most of you probably already know that the Tide lost to Auburn yesterday. Of course, how could Bama have won when Brody Croyle (the QB) was the only player one the field at offense for Bama. I've been a Bama fan since I was a little girl living in Florida (don't know how that came about). I just know I've been a Bama fan for many years and never cheered for anyone else. I've stuck by them through thick and thin and not about to change now. I was very disappointed in how the didn't play yesterday but still ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now on to something else. Oh by the way, if I could, I would bake you a pecan pie and send it to you my sibling in CA. Haven't a clue how to do that and have it arrive fit to eat, but then that wasn't a requirement of receiving one, was it brother? Had a great time yesterday with the children and grands. Teri as always was hilarious and her attempts to get Hannah (2 years old) to yell for Auburn were priceless. She remained true to her Memama and cheered for Bama. The food was great (and yes my girls did most of the cooking). I guess that means I lied in the previous blog about them not being cooks. I guess the correct comment would have been to say they prefer not to cook. As for the brother (adopted) in North Ala, will bring a pie to you next trip up that way.
Will be leaving in just a few to take number one son back to GA. Haley calls him Uncle Michael but for some reason Hannah has named him Michael, Michael (she can say Uncle). Will check in with you guys tomorrow.
Smelk(Hannahese for smell) something sweet today. She particularly likes to smelk plastic flowers. Aren't babies great? We learn so much from them.

Once again, WAR EAGLE. I will not give up on Hannah. She'll come to her senses soon enough. Just give it time. There is still hope in a converstion for her. It worked on Haley.....Aunt T knows how to get to them! War Eagle fly down the field.....
I'm just gald that it doesn't bother me as long as it used to. In the past, I would have been a basket case for a week or more. My dad and brother are rabid Auburn fans and were, for a long time, hard to get along about it. I decided some years ago, however, that it really is just a football game--a big one--but just a game--one that has bragging rights throughout the year--but just a game right? I mean who would get angry at a silly game? I mean really come on! No really, I'm not upset!!!!!!!
luitjmf - the sound that Alabama fans made last Saturday afternoon!
What a difference in perception. The Dogs lost too, but the entire Central Valley feels like they won. Scoring 42 points against USC ain't nothing to sneeze at. Plus, I think the fact that we were leading in the 4th put the fear of Dog in them.
jkqlym (unrecognizable word mumbled by a losing football coach)
Welcome to the wonderful world of football parity. USC is about the only team that has escaped this curse so far. And just as the “rambling wreck” of Georgia Tech proved on Saturday over Miami, any team can beat any other team on a given Saturday. That is why I’m convinced that my FSU Seminoles are going to march into Gainesville this coming Saturday and turn “the Swamp” into a cesspool with an upset victory over them Gators!
By the way, if you need to find a way to get the pecan pie to Greg, see Rex. If he can get a live chicken to SoCal, he can get your pecan pie there in one (no pun intended) piece or my name isn't
dnzofhyg!
I'v tried so often to teach that younger child of mine some manners but just hasn't worked. The eldest doesn't have any where those words are concerned either. What is a mom to do?
