It's Thursday Morning and I just began my 7 on. It has been a rough week past and mentioned yesterday. Last night in the ER, I as glad we didn't have any really serious patients, at least not between the time when American Idol was on. I have not been a fan from the beginning, but my children turned me on to the show when Ruben was on it. The last year when Bo was doing so well I started watching more frequently. This year I watch just to see how far Taylor will go. I am amazed at the talent Alabama and the south in general has turned out for this show. Just goes to show the nation that everyone in the south (and especially Alabama are not just dumb rednecks).

Of course the last statement could be refuted in Talladega this weekend. We are having the NASCAR race at Talladega this Sunday and already the rednecks from all over the country are converging on our town. We have even had two incidents in the ER from race fans from out of state and the race hasn't even begun. We had 2 men electrocuted two days ago while they were rigging their flag on their RV. Craziness abounds here two times a year in the most extreme ways (I should say more so than normal).

I've been gone from this house or had multiple things going on to the point that my house wonders if anyone lives here any more. So this AM, I am being brief and getting to work on the house cleaning (as much as can be done in 3-4 hours) before going to the job.

Thank you all

Teri went through surgery just fine. She had to stay in the hospital an extra day because she started throwing up and the doc was concerned she may rupture the incision. She had surgery last Wednesday and came home this past Saturday. I stayed with her Sunday until this afternoon, when I had to come back to work. She is very weak but doing well. Had the staples out Monday and the incision looked good. She did have an IV infiltrate into her arm and an infection of the tissue of her right arm set in. She has had more pain from that than her incision but is on an antibiotic and will be ok. She will be out for about 6 weeks but each day is doing better.

We thank you all for you prayers. She decided to go ahead and have the surgery so she would be well when we go to China to get Maddie. She should be ready to romp with her little one by then (still up in the air as to when that will be).

I didn't get a chance to let you know before now how things went because, I spent all day and half the night at the hospital last Wed, had an all day class last Thursday, kept Haley and Hannah last Friday (and when I took them home and went back to the house to make Haley's birthday cake, I had just put the cake in the oven when a horrible thunderstorm came through and knocked out my power). Saturday was Haley's party and there you have it. I know, so what's my excuse for not blogging? I'm trying guys, I really am.

I am at work now and need to post this and get off line before I get caught by the powers that be. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.

Request for prayers

As you know, my youngest daughter - Teri-is in the process of adopting our little Maddie from China. She and her husband have tried for many years to have a child of her own without success. They have gone through fertility many disappointing times. She has battles endometriosis for years and it has caused many problems besides infertility. She will be going into the hospital tomorrow morning for a complete hysterectomy and to have the endometriosis burned from where ever it has planted itself inside her. The hysterectomy itself is basically routine, the other can be tricky and dangerous. Therefore, I am asking for your prayers. Her surgery is scheduled for 6AM tomorrow morning. I will be at the hospital basically most of the day. I will try to blog tomorrow night to let you know how things turn out. I know she is in God's hands (as she has been her entire life) but a mother's concern sometimes gets in the way of her faith.

Thank you all and God Bless.

I know it has been almost a month since I last blogged. The computer screen wouldn't come on when I turned on the computer. Mike was home for more than a few hours this weekend and fixed it. Don't know what he did because I wasn't home. It seems we are just passing each other as we come and go. He has been out of town for the past three weeks on jobs and when he gets to come home, I'm working. I think I have forgotten how to cook because there is no one to cook for any more. You'ld thing I would be losing mega weight (no such luck).

Things are fine on the farm. Got to work last night and was informed I had a stain on the seat of my pants. It turns out that when Hannah (the 2 year old) was hugging me, she wiped her nose on my pants and she had strawberry juice all over her mouth and nose. Don't ya just love um?

Haley will be 8 years old the 23rd of this month. She is beginning to "like boys" and hates to be teased about it. She is playing soccer again this year and is actually turning into a pretty good player.

Up date on Maddie - our Chinklet-it now appears that we will not be going to China to get her until December. Greg, I am so sorry I will be missing Josh's wedding but Teri just got an e-mail about this change of travel from the adoption agency. Please keep Teri in your prayers, she is at the doctors today and it appears she will be scheduling surgery. She has had more than her share in her short almost 31 years. Will update as I know more.

Hope all of the blogging family are well. Will post again tomorrow.
